Our Mission
SALT Leadership’s mission is to glorify God by developing, training, and supporting church leaders in underserved regions of the world to handle scripture competently, be effective leaders, and equip others to be dedicated followers of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
Long Range Vision
The need for trained pastors is not limited to South America or only Spanish speaking countries. We expect that God will open up opportunities around the world, in many countries, speaking many different languages. SALT will prepare to engage wherever those opportunities arise by developing a training and organizational model that can be adapted to meet diverse cultural and language requirements.
Strategic Vision – 2022 to 2024
We believe that God is leading us to prepare SALT for future growth by building a solid organizational, teaching and developmental model upon which to grow. Focusing on creating that foundation in the next two years will allow us to expand to meet the needs where ever God opens doors.
Our Statement of Faith
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 10:30, 14:10, 16:7-10; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1,2, 14; 10:30), His virgin birth (Matthew 1:21), in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (Romans 5:6-8), in His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:5-7; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8), in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Acts 1:9-11; 2:33-34), and in His personal return in Power and glory (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
- We believe that our salvation is solely by the grace of God, through personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, not accomplished by anything we have done (Ephesians 2:8-9).
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man (Acts 4:12), regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential (1 Corinthians 6:19; 12:13). We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Galatians 5:22,23).
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost (John 5:28-29): the saved unto the resurrection of life (1 Corinthians 15:22-23; Revelation 20:4-6) and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation (Revelation 20:11-15).
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:19-22).
Our History
Since its inception in 1999, SALT Leadership has sent close to 50 teachers to reach thousands of Spanish-speaking academic and non-academic students in 15 different countries in Latin America, Europe, and beyond.
Our founder Gabe Agostini began teaching local pastors in Lima, Peru, through the support for Ripe For Harvest Missions. In 2006, SALT Leadership formally incorporated as a non-profit organization in Delaware to offer seminary and counseling training to Spanish-speaking pastors throughout South America and Europe. In 2013, current Chairman Dick Lawyer and the members of the SALT Leadership Board began serving as the operating staff of the organization.
In 2021, SALT Leadership hired Dr. Edward Stuart, Jr., as its new Executive Director. Our organization will continue to trust the Lord in these challenging times as we collaborate and work closely with our ministry partners around the globe.
Degree Programs
The organization’s degree programs are endorsed by the Christian and Missionary Alliance seminary in Lima, Peru (SEBAP).
